Why not Train to be an Electrician
The City & Guilds 2365 is the recognised course that starts you on your journey to become an electrician. We have traditionally delivered this as "blended learning" by studying at home and attending in the evenings over a two year period.
Alternatively you can complete both Levels 2 and 3 within 13 weeks by attending the centre full time Monday - Friday.
“The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course 2382-18 is included in the 13 week block. “
Also on offer is a "combined" version where you attend the Centre for a two-week block for the practical assessments and then complete the theory side using blended learning from home. (It's up to you how long this takes!)

City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Domestic, Commercial & Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (2919-01)
Our new Electric Vehicle Charging Course is running regularly. We are partnered with ROLEC so candidates can gain Manufacturer Installer Status if they wish as well as the Accredited City and Guilds qualification. This also allows suitable candidates to make an application to undertake work with one of the government Grant Schemes. This area of technology is a huge growth area and with recent company tax break for electric vehicles you can expect a surge in enquiries to fit this equipment. Course details are here.

EAS Update
The EAS committee prepare a framework for use by Competent Person Schemes to assess candidates wishing to be part of a competent person scheme.
It has released significant updates to the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) and Qualifications Guide, which will probably affect your business. You can read the specification here
From October 2026 you must ensure that any employed personnel working on EV, Solar, EESS (Battery) and micro wind installations are qualified in the given specialism. Furthermore, Electrical Installation Condition Reports will only be permitted to be undertaken by those qualified in this specialist area of work.
This is good news, in that it will put an end to unqualified installers working on complex installations and causing safety concerns, but it creates a significant challenge to anyone running an electrical business, since you will likely need to arrange for some of your staff to undertake training. You may also find that some experienced staff do not qualify to sit the assessments, since attendance on these courses is only permitted where learners have the required prerequisite qualifications.
Arena can support you in this transition providing training in Solar, Battery (EESS), Electric Vehicle Charging as well as Inspection and Testing. We also provide the experienced worker NVQ supporting individuals with lots of prior experience in achieving the relevant qualification to permit them undertaking further specialist CPD.
Don’t delay. Call us now. If you have a number of staff that need training we can look at bespoke dates and packages.
