BPEC OR CITY AND GUILDS - SMALL SCALE SOLAR VOLTAIC COURSE

The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to be able to design, install, inspect & test and maintain a solar photovoltaic system. The course comprises both theory and practical. Candidates will be expected to carry out the electrical testing required for the system and fit a panel to an existing simulated roof mounting system. The course does not cover the work involved with carrying out structural surveys, requirements for scaffolding, calculations relating to structural strength of roofing systems, brackets and fixings, weather sealing or wind loads. Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a BPEC or City and Guilds certificate which is one element for membership of a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Industry Partnered

There is only so much you can learn in three days in our simulated environment. As with all electrical work, the hard bit is doing it professionally. We are partnered with Seven Hills Solar (https://www.sevenhillssolar.co.uk/) who are committed to working with us to ensure operatives in this sector carry out work to the highest standard. Candidates successfully completing our training can enjoy paid sub contractual work experience with Jon Cowdrill from Seven Hills. No need to do additional installation training on simulated environments. You can work alongside an experienced installer and see first hand how to tackle various installations types from concrete tiles to slate to ground mounted to commercial metal roofs. Seven Hill offer paid work experience with opportunities you can build on over time and hopefully, moving forward you will enjoy future working partnerships. Please note, you must agree the conditions of any sub contractual work including insurance arrangements and CIS registration.
