Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician Diagnostic Underpinning Knowledge test (2346-04)
These diagnostic tests are designed for experienced electricians who need to evidence underpinning technical knowledge to progress onto the Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) route without completing a Level 2 qualification.
The test provides a formal, industry-recognised way to validate prior learning and enable progression to full competence status via completion of the Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) qualification.

Candidate vetting by Training Provider (using TESP approved Skills Scan)
Formal approval by TESP before registration

Digital credentials are generated to learners who have completed this qualification.
About the Assessment
This is not a course or qualification. These are diagnostic knowledge tests so there is no structured learning programme. Instead, candidates prepare independently using the published test resources as guidance.
Key points:
Purpose: To evidence underpinning technical knowledge for entry into the Level 3 EWA route qualification.
Preparation: Use provided resources (covering topics such as legislation, safe working practices, electrical principles, BS 7671 application, and testing/commissioning) to help with independent revision. Use sample questions provided by City & Guilds for practice.
Format: Muliple Choice Questions
Resit Policy: Up to 2 re-sits within 12 months of first test.
