EAL Level 2 VRQ

This qualification is a recommended method of progressing towards registration as a Domestic Electrical Installer
under 'Part P' requirements.


  1. •This course is aimed at those people who are already carrying out electrical work in dwellings
    and need a formal qualification.

  2. •The duration of the course is one week with continuous assessment in practical and theory throughout the course.


There are 9 modules, one of which is externally marked. The course includes practical installation skills and Inspection, Testing and Certification


  1. •Applicable Building Regulations for domestic electrical installations

  2. •Electrical safety legislation, regulations, standards & terminology

  3. •Domestic electrical circuit installation

  4. •Installing domestic lighting circuits

  5. •Domestic electrical earthing and bonding requirements

  6. •Inspecting, testing and commissioning single phase domestic circuits

  7. •Special locations and installations including kitchens

  8. •Domestic electrical installation pre-work survey / inspection

  9. •Basic understanding of 3 phase supplies


The cost includes comprehensive course notes and the On-Site Guide from the IEE.
