This qualification is a requirement for approved electrical installation contractors who have previously passed the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations exam.


  1. •The course may be delivered as a four day block or over nine weeks, with one three-hour session per week.

  2. •The duration of the course is 30 hours and the delivery of the course may be tailored to meet the clients' requirements.


Aimed at engineers and electricians involved in the inspection, testing and certification of electrical systems, the course is designed to familiarise them with Guidance Note Three of the 17th Edition and practical methods of testing.


  1. •Candidates are required to sit a two and a half hours written examination comprising two sections of short answer and structured questions.

  2. •There is also a final practical assessment of up to two hours duration with a qualified assessor plus ongoing practical assessments during the course.


The costs include practical assessments and examination entry fees.
