This qualification is a recommendation for NICEIC approved contractors who are dealing with complex installations outside the scope of the IEE On Site Guide.


  1. The course may be delivered as a five day block or over ten weeks, with one three-hour session per week.

  2. The duration of the course is 30 hours and the delivery of the course may be tailored to meet the clients' requirements.


Aimed at engineers and electrical contractors involved in the design, inspection, testing and certification of electrical systems, the course is designed to familiarise them with statutory requirements for electrical installations, plus BS 7671 and the associated Guidance Notes. Practical methods of testing are covered during the course.


  1. Candidates are required to sit a 3 hour written examination comprising ten questions.

  2. The practical element of the course is covered in the 2391-10 Inspection, Testing & Certification course. Candidates must have passed the practical module to embark upon this Design course.


The costs include comprehensive course notes based on the latest editions of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and Guidance Notes, plus examination entry fees.
